You can move to a different hosting package at any time. How it is handled depends on whether the new plan sits on the same server as your current one.
Within the same server #
Moving up or down between packages on the same server is applied directly to your account. There is no migration and no charge for the change itself.
Between different servers #
Switching between plans that live on different servers — for example from Cloud hosting to Starter, Budget or Premium cloud hosting — requires your account to be migrated, so it is done manually by our team.
Open a support ticket telling us which plan you are on now and which one you want to move to. Once we have that, we schedule the migration and copy your content across. When it is finished we contact you to update your DNS records so the domain points at the new server.
How the price is calculated #
Our billing system works out the difference automatically, based on how much of your current term you have used and how much is left.
- Upgrading: you pay the difference between the two plans for the remaining period, not the full price of the new plan.
- Downgrading: the unused difference is returned to your account as credit, which is then applied to future invoices. For example, moving from a package costing 30 USD to one costing 20 USD adds the unused portion of that 10 USD difference to your account credit.
Free domain plans #
You can switch freely between packages that include a free domain. If you move from a plan that included a free domain to one that does not, the standard price of that domain is deducted, since the domain was only free as part of the original package.
Migration charge #
- Same server: free.
- Different server: 250 BDT.
Before you switch #
- Check that the new plan has enough disk space and allows the number of websites you host. Downgrading into a plan that is too small will cause problems.
- Your site stays online during the migration. The only interruption is the short changeover when DNS is updated.
- Not sure which plan fits? Ask us first. We will tell you honestly if a cheaper one would do the job.
